Summary

This role is designed for a seasoned Salesforce Developer (4+ years) who enjoys the technical challenge of institutional finance. You should be equally comfortable writing Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC) as you are architecting complex integrations via REST APIs and middleware. Coinbase is looking for a high-ownership "builder" who can navigate a fast-paced environment and take charge of the end-to-end lifecycle for sales and billing systems. The position offers a competitive salary range of **$135k – $159k**, plus equity and bonuses. While technically remote-first within the USA, it emphasizes high-intensity collaboration with several required in-person offsites throughout the year. • Team -The Enterprise Applications & Architecture (EAA) STP team is the primary engineering partner for the Sales Trading & Prime (STP) business, building and operating Salesforce capabilities that power institutional sales, account management, and billing workflows.

• Role-As a Salesforce Developer on this team, you’ll design and deliver scalable, secure CRM and billing solutions for sales, trading, and account management users, while integrating Salesforce with pricing, contracting, and downstream finance systems. You’ll join a small, high-ownership engineering team that partners closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Account Management, Billing, and Institutional Operations stakeholders to unlock revenue, improve forecasting, and create resilient, auditable processes.

• Design, develop, customize, and maintain Salesforce applications and platform capabilities across orgs using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and other Salesforce technologies.

• Own end-to-end delivery of features and enhancements for STP - from technical design and estimation through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.

• Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and internal/external systems (e.g., REST APIs, event-driven integrations, middleware/automation platforms) to enable reliable data flows and cross-system workflows.

• Collaborate with product managers, admins, architects, and business stakeholders (CX, Compliance, Sales, Legal, Insto Ops, etc.) to refine requirements and provide technical guidance on Salesforce platform capabilities and tradeoffs.

• Provide demos of development to end stakeholders and engineering counterparts. Incorporate feedback into development and designs, expanding impact through direct, live consultation

• Design and implement robust data models (custom objects, relationships, sharing model), automation (Flows, Omni-Channel, assignment/routing), and configuration that scale with growing volume and complexity.

• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and design reviews to maintain a high bar for code quality, security, and reliability.

• Support operational excellence through on-call rotations, triaging and resolving production issues, root cause analysis, and hardening of critical flows and platform services.

• Document technical designs, patterns, and runbooks so that changes are well-understood, auditable, and easy to operate over time.

• Mentor IC3 and contractor developers on Salesforce engineering best practices, helping to raise the bar for the broader Salesforce ecosystem at Coinbase.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Developer (or equivalent Salesforce-focused engineering role), with a deep understanding of core Salesforce platform concepts (Apex, LWC, Flows, security/sharing, packaging, and release management).

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing complex Salesforce solutions in at least one of: Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, or Experience Cloud (e.g., case management, queues/Omni-Channel, digital channels, or partner/client portals).

• Strong experience building and operating integrations between Salesforce and other systems using REST APIs, Platform Events, middleware/automation platforms, ETL tooling, and Contracting tools (i.e. Ironclad).

• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and design patterns, including testable architectures, separation of concerns, and performance/scalability considerations.

• Experience working in a product-aligned engineering team, partnering with PMs and cross-functional stakeholders, and translating business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.

• Familiarity with modern engineering practices: version control (Git/GitHub), code review, CI/CD pipelines, CLIs, and environment management for multi-sandbox Salesforce development.

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, including comfort working in complex, distributed environments where Salesforce is one of several critical systems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain tradeoffs, risks, and technical approaches to both technical and non-technical partners.

• Experience working effectively with a geographically distributed team, including aligning on EST or similar core hours where needed.

• Experience with marketing tools, specifically Salesforce Marketing Cloud

• Experience working on a platform or enablement team that supports multiple Salesforce product teams/orgs (e.g., shared services, reusable components, platform tooling).

• Hands-on experience with multi-org Salesforce environments, including shared patterns for integrations, security, and data modeling across orgs.

• Experience integrating Salesforce with internal platforms or AI/automation tooling (e.g., Workato, MCP-based tools, internal LLM/AI assistants, or similar).

• Background in regulated or highly audited environments (e.g., financial services, fintech, compliance-heavy domains) with sensitivity to data privacy, controls, and evidencing.

• Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II, Salesforce Administrator, or Service Cloud Consultant.

• Experience owning or contributing to engineering standards and best practices (linting, code style, testing frameworks, deployment patterns) across multiple.
