You should be an expert in the "Lakehouse" ecosystem—specifically Spark, Kafka, and table formats like Iceberg or Hudi—and have a strong grasp of Python, Java, or Scala. Since this position sits at the intersection of Big Data and Enterprise security, a background in encryption (EKM) and data residency is a massive advantage. The compensation is highly competitive, offering a base salary between **$230k - $300k** plus equity. While listed as "Remote," the culture is strictly **hybrid**; you must be near the San Francisco office for "Anchor Days" (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). Join Notion’s Data Platform team as we build out the data infrastructure for Notion's next phase of large enterprise customers and novel agentic data use cases. You’ll help design and build the core data platform that powers Notion’s AI, analytics, and search while meeting stringent security, privacy, and compliance requirements. This role focuses on the data platform layer (storage, compute, pipelines, governance) and partners closely with Infrastructure, Security, Search Platform, AI, and Data Engineering.
