Work type: onsite
Location: San Francisco, CA | Los Angeles, CA | Seattle, WA | New York, NY
Salary: $180,000 – $250,000/yr
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a security-minded infrastructure engineer with at least 5 years of experience, specifically someone who has operated within hyper-growth startup environments. You should be comfortable building large-scale distributed systems and have a deep technical grasp of authentication, authorization, and data privacy (PII). While the stack includes Python, Elixir, and JavaScript, the team prioritizes general engineering excellence and a "secure-by-default" mindset over specific language mastery.
The compensation is highly competitive, reaching up to $250k base plus equity. While the company offers a "remote co-located" model, this specific position requires residency near hubs in SF, LA, NYC, or Seattle for in-person collaboration. Standout perks include a 4% 401k match, 16 weeks of parental leave, and a dedicated "dogfooding" budget to buy products on the platform.
**You might be a good fit if you:**
* Have built and scaled IAM systems (OAuth, OpenID, RBAC) for millions of users.
* Thrive in fast-paced environments where you ship code quickly with minimal direction.
* Possess strong opinions on how to build secure-by-default infrastructure and PII storage.
* Are comfortable with or interested in working across Python, Elixir, and Kubernetes.
