Summary

This role is designed for a seasoned Product Manager with at least 7 years of experience managing complex transaction platforms, specifically within Fintech, Healthtech, or B2B marketplaces. You’ll be the architect of the financial backbone for a high-growth Series D company, handling the end-to-end lifecycle of insurance claims and payments. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical fluency, comfortable navigating data pipelines and architectural decisions alongside engineering teams. The compensation is highly competitive, reaching up to $265,000 plus equity. While the role requires an on-site presence in New York, San Francisco, or Seattle, the benefits package is robust, featuring unique perks like therapy reimbursement, a work-from-home stipend, and a dedicated company break between Christmas and New Year’s. This is a high-impact opportunity to solve "messy" real-world financial problems that directly affect provider livelihoods and patient access to care. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have a proven track record of reducing financial leakage or "loss" in high-volume billing systems. * Can balance building sleek user interfaces with the "heavy lifting" of backend exception handling and internal operations tools. * Enjoy diving into data to build predictive models for things like claim denials or anomaly detection. * Thrive in cross-functional environments, bridging the gap between Engineering, Finance, and Operations.

Job Description

Headway’s mission is a big one – to build a new mental health care system everyone can access. We’ve built technology that helps people find great therapists with the first software-enabled national network of providers accepting insurance.

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the majority of providers don’t accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access by making it easy for therapists to accept insurance and scale their practice.

Headway was founded in 2019. Since then, we’ve grown into a diverse, national network of over 60,000 mental healthcare providers across all 50 states who run their practice on our software and have served over 1 million patients. We’re a Series D company with over $325m in funding from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), Accel, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Spark Capital, Thrive Capital, Forerunner Ventures and Health Care Service Corporation.
