Summary

This role is ideal for a high-level software architect who bridges the gap between traditional backend engineering and modern AI implementation. You’ll need at least 7 years of professional experience, including a proven track record of shipping consumer-facing products using **Node.js, React, and TypeScript**. Most importantly, you should have at least 2 years of deep experience building AI-driven features, involving LLMs, vector databases, and prompt engineering. The position offers significant financial upside and flexibility, with a salary reaching up to **$247,700 USD** (plus equity and an annual bonus) and a fully remote work environment within the U.S. and parts of Canada. As a Staff-level engineer, you’ll have a high degree of influence over the technical roadmap of an "AI-native" platform, moving beyond simple API integrations to lead complex architecture and AI evaluation strategies. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have successfully scaled web products and are comfortable debugging complex, full-stack production issues. * Are excited about staying on the bleeding edge of AI/ML advancements to solve practical user experience problems. * Prefer working in a "craft-focused" environment that balances rapid shipping with high technical quality. * Enjoy collaborating cross-functionally with designers and PMs to turn abstract AI capabilities into "superpowers" for creators.

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Applied AI team to help us build generative AI-powered features. The Applied AI team’s goal is to enhance speed, creativity, and quality when building and designing websites through the power of AI, in pursuit of our mission to bring development superpowers to everyone around the world. This role will collaborate directly with product and ML engineers, product managers and designers to identify and implement AI solutions that improve the Webflow user experience, while cultivating an environment of excellence, care, and curiosity.
