This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior level Linux systems expert who specializes in the intersection of storage architecture and performance tuning. You should have at least 6 years of experience managing distributed systems, with a heavy emphasis on Ceph. This isn't just a maintenance role; it's a deep-dive engineering position focused on benchmarking, hardware-level optimization, and refining how storage interacts with GPUs and virtualized environments.
The compensation range is $80k–$110k for a fully remote U.S. position. The benefits package is exceptionally robust, featuring 100% company-paid medical premiums, a 4% 401(k) match with immediate vesting, and unique longevity perks like a one-month paid sabbatical every five years and annual professional development stipends.
**You might be a good fit if you:**
* Have extensive hands-on experience tuning Ceph, Linux kernels, and networking stacks for high-performance workloads.
* Are proficient with KVM virtualization (virtio-blk/fs) and Kubernetes environments (RKE2).
* Enjoy deep-dive benchmarking and using data to recommend architectural changes.
* Can work independently in a remote environment while collaborating on complex, large-scale cloud infrastructure.
