Work type: remote
Location: Home based - Worldwide
Type: Full-time
This role is ideal for C programmers with a deep interest in low-level systems engineering and hardware enablement. While direct Linux kernel experience is a major plus, the team is open to engineers coming from RTOS or bare-metal backgrounds, provided you have a strong grasp of device drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs). It is a mid-level to senior opportunity suited for those who enjoy working at the intersection of software and silicon.
The position offers complete geographic flexibility as part of a long-standing remote-first culture. You will work directly with major silicon vendors like NVIDIA and Qualcomm to optimize Ubuntu for their chips. Notable perks include a $2,000 annual professional development budget, performance-based bonuses, and twice-yearly international travel for team "sprints."
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Are highly proficient in C and have experience with git and hardware-level debugging.
* Want to work on high-impact projects that influence the performance of global SoC families.
* Thrive in an autonomous, remote environment but enjoy traveling twice a year for intense collaboration.
* Have a background in Linux kernel patching, Python scripting, or Debian packaging.
